Summer is so close I can taste it.

I really have no reason to write, I'm just bored and hoping something mildly interesting might come out.

My photo class is finally over... turned in my final projects yesterday (and paid a pretty penny to have them printed--$90 for 5 prints and 3 foam core boards! Yikes! Though I do have to say they look delightfully professional and I'm thinking about making more and selling them...) I still have 2 paintings I pretty much have to start and finish in a week (they're due a week from today), and then there are my 2 final exams this coming Wednesday, which I feel I should probably be more worried about than I am.

It's beginning to look like the sublet I had lined up for the summer isn't going to work (again) because the girl FINALLY got back in touch with me and informed me that the lease goes until the end of August (I'll be leaving at the end of July). I might still do it and just pay for the month I won't be there, but that's an unfortunate waste of money.

Danielle and I finalized our travel plans for the summer... we still have yet to buy the tickets but I think we've finally narrowed our itinerary down to a reasonable number of places. We started off wanting to go to like 3 different countries, then we settled on Italy and Greece, and now with the riots going on in Greece we've agreed to keep it to Italy. It will be simpler, involve less travel, and it will be far less expensive. So if all goes well, we'll spend a few days in Rome and Florence/Tuscany, and take a day trip to Venice.

What else.

I was talking with one of my good friends in the art department and she got me thinking about doing exhibits. It has occurred to me that I aught to start treating what I do more like a profession and less like a hobby, since, if I do get a career in photography like I hope to, I'm going to have to get used to charging people for something I see as more fun than a job anyway. I've been trying to think of ideas for a theme I could do (because shows typically have themes, you can't just submit random work that you've done throughout your work--you need something to tie it all together). Also, like I mentioned, I've been thinking about selling prints. I don't know how lucrative that would be, or if I'd even sell anything, but it's time to start looking into that.

Oh, speaking of photography and all that good stuff, I had a pretty successful shoot with a Bob Dylan lookalike the other day for a photo assignment... I got access to the Performing Arts Center stage which I was super stoked about because I've always wanted to take pictures in there. Here's the album on flickr if you're curious...

Dum dee dum dum......

I've decided to try my hand at jazz singing... I've never sung in that style before so I have no idea if I'm really cut out for it or not, but improvisation is kinda my thing, so maybe I'll surprise myself. Choir's done for the quarter... Arab music concert next weekend (excited!... for all the wrong reasons...) and uh...

Yeah that's pretty much it.

Lara's coming to pick me up for dinner in a few, so I've gotta run.
